Equal Pay Day 2015

On average, women in Ontario need to work till age 79 to make what men make by age 65 (source: CCPA Ontario). Ontario’s gender pay gap, according to latest Statistics Canada figures, is 31.5% (based on all male and female average annual earnings – including part time workers). The gap is much higher for women of colour, women with disabilities or Aboriginal women.Ontario’s Equal Pay Day is April 20, 2015.

Equal Pay Days illustrates how far into the next year a woman must work to earn the same amount a man made in the previous year.
