Rachel and Chester’s wedding was filled with adventure, swing dancing, their dog Drizzy, an intimate first look and even a seaplane ride. When Chester moved from Australia to Canada to play ice hockey, he wasn’t sure how long he would stay. Little did he know, that almost ten years later, he would promise his life to Rachel and make her heart his permanent home. When it came time to propose to Rachel, Chester hid the ring in the only place that he knew she wouldn’t look, in his ice skate. When they got to their location, he couldn’t wait until after dinner to propose, he got down on one knee in the middle of the restaurant and asked her to marry him. While he says he got a nod rather than a verbal yes, it’s clear that Rachel’s heart and life say yes.
Family and friends gathered from across the world and across the province to witness their special day! The wedding took place at the Elmhirst’s Resort Wedding in Keene, Ontario. The couple shared personal, heartfelt vows during their ceremony. The speeches shared during the reception spoke to this couple’s kindness, friendship, love for poutine, the Maple Leafs and board games.
